NEXT MEETING – CHANGE OF PLAN

The lecture (Model Railways - The Bigger Gauges) will still take place at 19 Manor Avenue, London but on 24th October from 7:00 PM.

The Chairman, Edward Ronayne apologises for any inconvenience caused.

The forthcoming meeting (Model Railways – The Bigger Gauges) will take place at: 19 Manor Avenue, London (press ‘Ronayne’ on the intercom and you will be lead through the side gate) from 7:00 PM on 3rd October. The transport details are as follows:

Car

If coming from the North, leave the M11 at Junction 4 and take the A12 to Poplar and join the A102 southbound through the Blackwall Tunnel. When approaching Blackheath, join the A2 westbound towards New Cross (until the crossroads just beyond Deptford Bridge DLR station). Then, join the A2210 towards Lewisham for approximately 300 yards and turn right into Friendly Street. From there, continue all the way through and take the A20 towards New Cross for approximately 200 yards and turn left into the one-way road (you also have to turn left for this) and turn right into Manor Avenue.

If coming from the South, leave the M20 at Junction 1 (also M25, Junction 3) and take the A20 until you are approximately one mile north-west of Lewisham.

Rail

The nearest rail stations are Brockley and St. Johns.

Trains calling at Brockley serve London Bridge, London Victoria, Clapham Junction, Norwood Junction, East Croydon, West Croydon, Crystal Palace, Caterham, and Sutton.

Trains calling at St. Johns serve London Charing Cross, London Waterloo East, London Bridge, London Cannon Street, Lewisham, and Hayes (Kent).

DLR (Docklands Light Railway)

The nearest DLR station is Deptford Bridge.

Bus

Many buses stop opposite the Memorial Garden (at the end of Manor Avenue).

Transport Direct or Transport for London gives you detailed time and route information.


27th December - ARC Members' Party

Taking place at 224 Brockley Road, London (start time to be confirmed).

This will also be Edward Ronayne's birthday celebration.
